Lies and Pieter are a graphic designer and a photographer. Since 2009, they have been doing just one thing: transforming walls into something useful and beautiful, without damaging them. How does a magnetic adhesive board work?

The panel features a built-in magnet-attracting surface. Once glued to the wall, it welcomes all your Ma Cabane à Rêves magnets. In just a few minutes, a blank wall transforms into a creative and decorative space.

What is the difference from the magnetic wooden board?

The adhesive board becomes the wall – it blends into the decor. The wooden board is an object that can be hung or placed. The magnetic strength of the wooden board is stronger – magnets can be stacked. (To create 3D stories, the wooden board is what you need. Just for your information.)

Is it child-friendly?

Yes – that's what it's made for. Children can place their magnets, draw, move things around, and imagine. And since nothing gets pierced, parents are happy too.

Is this a good gift idea?

Very. Original, useful, durable. And it comes with the Groovy Magnets installation guide so you can't go wrong during installation.

What surfaces can it stick to?

On all smooth, clean, dry surfaces: painted walls, wood, glass, metal, cabinets, doors. Avoid: textured walls, roughcast, embossed wallpaper, damp or recently painted walls—wait at least 4 weeks after fresh paint.

⚠️ Remember to degrease thoroughly before application—even if the wall appears clean. An isopropyl alcohol wipe (70%) is ideal. Avoid lemon-based products, Glassex, or white spirit—they prevent the adhesive from sticking properly.

Can the painting damage my wall when I remove it?

Honestly – it depends on your wall. On a painted wall that is in good condition, smooth, and dry, removal goes well if you heat it with a hair dryer and peel gently. On fragile, old, or very porous matte paint, there may be small chips of paint. Our advice: test first in an inconspicuous corner. And if your wall was painted less than 4 weeks ago – wait. Glue and fresh paint don't mix well.

How to hang the painting?

Partially peel off the backing sheet, position the panel, press firmly, then gently pull the sheet downwards while rubbing with a soft cloth. Use a hairdryer on the highest setting along the edges — this makes the adhesive flexible and ensures optimal adhesion. Wait 48 hours before attaching magnets to it.

Is it repositionable?

No. The adhesive is designed for permanent attachment. Once applied, the panel is not repositionable. To remove it: heat with a hairdryer and peel off gradually, gently. The longer it has been on the wall, the more patience is required for removal

Do the magnets hold well?

Yes, they lie perfectly flat. The magnetic strength is gentler than a metal backing, which means the magnets do not overlap. For optimal adherence, your magnets must be perfectly flat. If they are slightly curved, place them on a metal surface for a few moments to help them regain their shape.

Can you write and draw on it?

Yes! Chalk, liquid chalk markers, erasable markers, multi-surface pencils—all compatible.

To erase: a soft, damp cloth with a drop of dish soap is sufficient. For stubborn marks: a melamine sponge with a drop of dish soap. Magic.

A tip: erase regularly after each use. The longer you wait, the more the marks will set. And prefer liquid chalk markers over classic chalk markers—they erase much better on this surface.

In which rooms can it be installed?

Children's room, kitchen, office, entrance, playroom. For indoor use only – Groovy Magnets stickers are not designed for outdoor use.
