Installation & Care

Read the Groovy Magnets installation guide (PDF) before installation — 5 minutes that prevent 90% of problems.

Before installing: surface must be smooth, clean, and dry. Degrease with water and a little dish soap (without lemon). For washable paints: use a wipe with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Avoid Glassex, white spirit, and lemon-based products.

Installation: partially peel off the backing sheet, position, press firmly, remove the sheet downwards while rubbing with a soft cloth. Finish with a hairdryer at full power on the edges — heat makes the adhesive flexible and ensures optimal adhesion. Wait 48 hours before attaching magnets.

Care: damp cloth + a drop of dish soap. For stubborn marks: melamine sponge.

Things to know before buying

• This board is designed to last — not to be moved. Take your time to choose your location before installing.
• Recent paint job? Wait at least 4 weeks after the work is finished before installing.
• Magnetic strength is gentler than a metal surface: magnets do not overlap.
• Removal is possible by heating with a hairdryer and gently peeling off — the longer the board has been in place, the more patience it requires.
• To create volumetric stories with overlapping magnets → the wooden board is made for that.
